Nurse nimisha priya: The Supreme Court will hear today (July 14, 2025) on the petition filed in connection with nurse Nimisha Priya, who is serving a sentence in Yemen in Yemen. In this petition, the central government has demanded that they should make diplomatic intervention towards saving Nimisha.

The bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta will hear the matter. This petition has been filed on behalf of an organization called Sev Nimisha Priya International Action Council. Nimisha has been living in Yemen since 2008.

Nimisha is to be hanged on 16 July in Yemen

Nimisha has been sentenced to death in the murder case. He is to be hanged on 16 July. Earlier, Nimisha’s family has requested Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the central government for help. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding diplomatic intervention to stop the execution of Nimisha.

Sentenced to death of business partner

The Ministry of External Affairs said that we are trying to provide all possible help to the families of Nimisha. The documents of Yemen’s court alleged that nurse Nimisha Priya killed her business partner Talal Abdo Mehdi. Not only this, after the murder, he had threw his body into the tank with the help of another nurse.

What does Nimisha’s family say?

Nimisha Priya’s family members dismissed these allegations outright that she had not committed murder, but Nimisha had allegedly injected her unconsciousness to get her seized passport, but she died due to overdose.

Nimisha Priya filed a petition in Yemen’s Supreme Court against the death sentence, but she was dismissed. He also appealed to the President of Yemen for mercy, but she was also not accepted.
