The hearing in the Supreme Court has been postponed for 22 April on the demand of ending the sentence of Sukhdev wrestler convicted of Nitish Katara murder. The court reprimanded the Delhi government for not taking a decision in the case so far. However, the court refused to release Sukhdev on the furlo.
Sukhdev Pahalwan was sentenced to 20 years in this case. This punishment has been completed on 10 March. He has applied for release of Delhi government’s punishment review board.
In the last hearing on March 18, the Delhi government had said in the court that a meeting on this matter is to be held today, so the court should postpone the hearing. The court then gave the date of March 28 for the hearing and ordered the Principal Secretary (Home) of Delhi to appear in the court through video conferencing.
Nitish Katara case is in the year 2002, when Nitish Katara, son of IAS officer, was abducted and murdered from a wedding Samareh. After this, the body of Nitish Katara was burnt with petrol. In this case, the names of Vikas Vikas, nephews Vishal and Sukhdev wrestler were revealed in the case and on May 30, 2008, the court convicted them to jail. & Nbsp;
