Many important decisions including caste census were taken in this. After the meeting, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told in the press briefing that castes will also be counted in the upcoming census.

He also alleged that the previous governments, especially the Congress, used the idea of ​​caste census as a political weapon only. He said that in 2010, the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had asked the Lok Sabha to send the issue to the cabinet for consideration, but finally only a survey was conducted, which was called SECC (socio-economic and caste census). “

After the government’s announcement, there was a response from opposition leaders, including the Congress, Congress spokesperson Pawan Kheda said that the government was accusing Rahul Gandhi of dividing the society among the castes, will the government now divide the society among the castes?
