No proof found with mother’s fleeing of mother with child, Supreme Court asked the police to continue searching

On Friday (July 18, 2025) in the case of Russian citizen Victoria going out of India with his child, the Central Government told the Supreme Court that it has not been confirmed so far. The government gave this information during the hearing of the child’s father, Saikat Basu. The court has asked for further hearing on the case on Monday, July 21.

Victoria had filed a petition in the Supreme Court by telling her 4 and a half year old child in the illegal custody of her husband. On 22 May this year, the Supreme Court allowed him to keep the child with him 3 days a week. Under this system, when the child was with her, she disappeared with her. Only Basu has reached the Supreme Court with this complaint.

Love affair with Russian Embassy Officer

It has been told in the petition that Victoria, who was living in the Defense Colony of Delhi, was seen on 7 July with a Russian diplomat going to the embassy from the back door. The child was with him at that time. On July 10, he reached the place already fixed to withdraw his child, but Victoria did not come there.

Saikat has expressed apprehension in his petition that Victoria may have a love affair with the Russian Embassy officer. Saikat has also told that after marriage he came to know that Victoria’s father was a detective of the Russian intelligence agency. In such a situation, the entire conduct of Victoria is under suspicion.

Court sought report in 24 hours

Taking the case seriously, the Supreme Court sought a report from Delhi Police on Thursday (July 17, 2025) in 24 hours. The court also allowed Delhi Police to search the house of the Russian Embassy Officer. The court requested the Russian Embassy to cooperate with the police. The court also asked all the international airports to get information.

In the hearing held on Friday (July 18, 2025), Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati, appearing for the Central Government and Delhi Police, said that information has been gathered from all international airports and ports. There is no visit to Victoria’s passport. His bank account has not been spent even more. In such a situation, it seems that he is still in India. If she has gone out of the country, then its medium will not be a valid way.

Home Ministry runs lookout circular

Bhati said that Russian ambassadors are cooperating in the case. He has told that Victoria came to the embassy for some time on 5 July. On July 10, his mother sent information from Russia that his phone is closed. Nothing is known about him. After this, the embassy informed the Delhi Police.

The central government said that the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a lookout circular for Victoria. Delhi Police has sought help from the police of the rest of the states. Google and Instagram have been asked to give information about the location of Victoria. After a short hearing, a bench of Justices Suryakant and Joyamalya Bagchi asked the police to continue the search.
