New Delhi. The Indian cricket team lost by 5 wickets, despite the lead in the first innings. England opener Ben Docket played an important role in forcing Team India to face a shameful defeat, who laid the foundation of his team’s victory by scoring 149 runs in the second innings. Docket, along with fellow opener Jack Caruli, shared a record 188 -run partnership for the first wicket. He put shots around the ground. Docket was adjudged Player of the Match for his match winning innings. England defeated India by 5 wickets on the fifth and last day of the Test match to take a 1-0 lead in the series. For India, Rishabh Pant scored centuries in both innings.
Ben Docket left Cook behind
Ben Docket was given the Player of the Match Award because he played a big innings in difficult situations. His team won on the basis of his brilliant innings. While Rishabh Pant scored 134 runs in the first innings, there was no pressure on the wife in the second innings. If this Test match was won by India, then Pant would have been awarded this award. But this did not happen. Ben Docket became the first opener to score a century in the fourth innings of the Test match after 2010. Earlier, Elister Cook achieved this feat against Bangladesh in 2010 in Mirpur.
