Now Bihar SIR will create ruckus in Parliament, opposition adamant on discussion, government trying to pass bill

While the monsoon session of Parliament went up for the first week, there was a fierce debate on Operation Sindoor in the second week. On the one hand, the opposition is demanding a discussion about Bihar SIR, on the other hand the government wants to pursue legislative works. The government may insist on passing an important sports bill in the Lok Sabha on Monday (4 August 2025).

These bills listed to pass

In the Lok Sabha, the National Sports Administration Bill has been listed to consider and pass and pass more transparency in the functioning of sports bodies. The Rajya Sabha has listed on Monday to pass the proposal of Home Minister Amit Shah to extend President’s rule in Manipur for six months from August 13. Another Bill listed for consideration and passage in the Lok Sabha is the National Anti -Doping (Amendment) Bill.

India alliance is united on SIR issue

The India alliance is seen united on the issue of SIR. The opposition has alleged about the SIR that the purpose of this exercise of the Election Commission is to remove voters sympathetic to its agenda and promote the possibilities of BJP -led NDA. The Election Commission has said that it will implement this process at the national level, to ensure that only qualified voters are allowed to cast their votes.

‘House cannot debate the functioning of constitutional institution’

The opposition is continuously demonstrating in Parliament due to the government not paying any attention to the demand for discussion on SIR in Parliament, due to which the proceedings have to be postponed again and again. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has said that taking decisions on the demand of the opposition is the job of the chairman of both houses. Citing a decision, he said that the House cannot debate the functioning of a constitutional institution like Election Commission, which shows that the government rejects the demand of the opposition.

‘Government will try to pass the bill after the uproar’

In this regard, a prominent government official said that if the government’s agenda continues to be interrupted due to disruption in Parliament, it will try to pass its major bills despite the noise. Union Minister Rijiju said on Friday that SIR is part of the work area of the Election Commission. He said, “This is not the first time the Election Commission is doing so.” Whether or not the Parliament can discuss the administrative functions of the Election Commission, it is to decide the chairman as per the rules. “
