Now controversy over SSC exam in West Bengal, students protesting for these demands – WBSSC School Teacher Recruitment Protest Against Grace Marks 2025 PVPW

West bengal ssc: Candidates are demonstrating for fair recruitment in government aided schools in West Bengal. Their demand is that the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) should abolish the provision of giving grace marks in new recruitment and share the details of all the posts to be filled. Students say that the examination should be done in transparency and fair manner.

A section of the candidates interested in school jobs who appeared in the recently held examination by WBSSC performed at Salt Lake at the eastern end of Kolkata on Thursday and demanded fair recruitment in government aided schools. They gathered at Karunamayi Metro Station and took out a kilometer long march to the State Education Department Headquarters Vikas Bhawan.

Candidates interested in the job said that they want to meet the State Education Minister to highlight their objections on the recruitment notification. The agitators who appeared in the State Level Selection Examination (SLST) conducted by the West Bengal School Services Commission on September 7 and 14, were demanding to abolish the provision of giving 10 additional marks to those impeccable teachers who had lost their jobs and participated in the new examination.

Describing the 2016 recruitment process as “contaminated and tainted”, the Supreme Court had ordered the dismissal of 25,753 teaching and non-teaching employees of state-assisted schools. The protesters claimed that the provision of 10-fresh marks would deprive new candidates and violate the criteria that ensure equal opportunities for all candidates. He also demanded to release vacancies in schools immediately.

Meanwhile, non-teaching staff, who lost their jobs in the recruitment dispute, said that they are having trouble due to non-payment of salary for the last six months. Candidates interested in the job said that they want to meet the Education Minister of the state for their objections on recruitment notification.
