Mother cried bitterly over son’s death
According to the information, Akash had gone out of some work, then suddenly he became a victim of a stampede. When his parents got this news, he wept bitterly. In the Karur Hospital campus, he showed a selfie of his son which he recently pulled together. On seeing the picture, the tears were not taking the name of the parents’ eyes. She was asking who she will make the groom now.
Family members say that Akash was not only the support of the house but he was also very sociable and responsible. The preparations for the wedding were in full swing and the list of calling relatives was ready, but this incident took away all the happiness.
Accident due to the crowd three times more crowded than expected
In fact, on Saturday, the organizers had estimated 10,000 people to arrive for Vijay’s rally, but the actual number reached around 27,000. Police say that they had anticipated arrival of a maximum of 20,000 people and security arrangements were made accordingly. During the scorching heat and long wait, the crowd became impatient due to lack of adequate arrangements for food and water.
The DGP said that Vijay’s party TVK’s official Twitter handle was announced that he would arrive at 12 noon, while the actual program was scheduled from 3 pm to 10 pm. Due to this, people started coming in large numbers from 11 am. However, Vijay reached the venue at 7:40 pm. Meanwhile, people stood in the sun for hours without adequate convenience.
Inquiry commission constituted
The police chief said, ‘Our aim is not to blame anyone, but these are facts, the organizers were already given instructions related to mob and security management. The police can play only a collaborative role. He also informed that the police made a tough circle to reach Vijay safely to the stage, but this caused the crowd to gather more.
At present, the state government has set up a commission to investigate the accident. Three IG, two DIGs, 10 SPs and about 2,000 policemen have been sent under the leadership of ADGP Law and Order Davidson Airwatham. The administration has announced compensation to the families of the deceased and free treatment of the injured.
