A gang rape incident has come to light with a college student at Gopalpur Beach in Ganjam district of Odisha. On Sunday evening, the student went to visit the beach with her male friend, where about 10 unidentified youths attacked him and gang -raped the student. At the same time, threatened to put his photo on the internet with a male friend.

A case was registered on Monday on the complaint of the victim. A case of gangrape has been registered under Section 70 of the Code of Justice of India (BNS). The police have so far taken 8 accused into custody and they are being questioned. A special investigation team (SIT) has been formed to search for the remaining accused.

The accused first threatened to put pictures of both of them on the internet

Police said that the victim is a resident of a nearby district and is studying in a private mess in Berhampur. His male friend is also a student of the same college. Both of them were sitting in a deserted part of the middle, when a group of about 10 people reached there and the accused first took pictures of both and threatened to put them on the internet.

The accused took away the girl’s friend and took them away

Then, forcibly pulled the girl’s friend away. After tying him, the accused gang-raped the student in turn. On receiving information about the incident, the police team reached the spot and started the investigation. The victim’s medical examination will be done on Tuesday.
