In Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Ratnakar Sahu was brutally beaten up by some youths during a public grievance redressal meeting. The video of this incident is going viral on social media. It is seen in the video that some youths are slapping and punching Sahu. The news was given to the police, in which the police have arrested three people.
Why was the commissioner attacked?
BMC Commissioner Ratnakar Sahu has been attacked by about five to six people during public hearing on Monday. Some people went to his chamber and caught his collar. It is seen in the video that some people are kicking the commissioner and attacking the head as well.
Commissioner Ratnakar Sahu was accused of insulting BJP leader Jagannath Pradhan, after which his supporters have assaulted. This is the reason that the Odisha Administrative Service Association has announced a collective holiday in protest against the incident.
Commissioner narrated the incident
Later Commissioner Ratnakar Sahu narrated his tragedy. He told that while he was doing public hearing, 5 to 6 people came to his cabin. He felt that he had brought the complaint. During this time a councilor was also present with him, who said that BJP leader Jagannath has misbehaved with Pradhan. During this conversation, he hit me and dragged me. At the same time, the commissioner told that after assaulting them, they tried to kidnap me.
