In Ganjam district of Odisha, two Dalit youths were badly beaten up on suspicion of cow-smuggling. Half of his head was shaved. They were forced to crawl on their knees, eat grass and drink drain water. The police gave information on Monday. The incident took place on Sunday in Khariguma village. Whose video is viral on social media.

According to the police, the victim Babula Nayak and Bulu Nayak who are residents of Singipur village. Two cows and one calf were being taken from Hari and to their village. He was stopped by cow-guards in Khariguma village.

The mob asked for 30 thousand rupees from them. He was beaten for refusal. Took half -headed by taking the salon. They were forced to crawl on their knees for 1 km. Grass was fed. Drain water was fed.

Rahul Gandhi said- The incident that crushing dignity of Dalits insults the constitution

After the video of the incident surfaced, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi posted on X. He wrote-Such incidents are becoming common in the BJP ruled states because their politics is based on hatred and discrimination. It is not only inhuman to make Dalit youths to walk on their knees, eat grass and drink dirty water but also the barbarity of Manuwadi thinking.

Rahul wrote- “Every incident crushing the dignity of Dalits is an attack on Baba Saheb’s Constitution – there is a conspiracy against equality, justice and humanity. The culprits should be arrested immediately and they should be punished severely. The country will run from the constitution, not with Manusmriti.”
