A 15 -year -old minor burnt on Saturday in Puri, Odisha is 70 percent scorching. He is undergoing treatment at Bhubaneswar AIIMS. Ashutosh Biswas, executive director of AIIMS, said- A 14-member team of doctors is engaged in the treatment of the minor.

He said- The minor is on oxygen support in ICU, but is able to talk. The next 48 hours are very important. The police have recorded his statement in the presence of the magistrate.

Meanwhile, opposition parties created a ruckus outside AIIMS. The opposition demands that the victim be lifted to Delhi AIIMS. Like Balasore victim, a minor does not die.

During this, there was a clash between BJP, BJD and Congress supporters. The Bhubaneswar-Cuts Commissionerate Police implemented Section 163 of BNS at AIIMS Campus. 90 security personnel have been deployed.

In fact, 3 youths riding a bike were stopped by 3 youths going to a friend’s house in Baibar village of Puri. He was taken to the banks of the Bhargavi river and put petrol and set it on fire. After this, the accused escaped from the spot.

The entire incident took place at a distance of one and a half kilometers at the victim’s house. Why the student set fire, no reason has been revealed yet. There are 4 teams of Odisha Police in search of the accused.

Eyewitness said- the girl was burning, we extinguished the fire

A villager named Shyam Senapati said- When the girl came towards my house, she was surrounded in the fire. My family extinguished his fire, gave him water. After this, the girl’s clothes changed. His family members were called and sent to Pipili Government Hospital. From here he was referred to Bhubaneswar AIIMS.

Naveen Patnaik said- criminals have become fearless in the state

Former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that I was very pained for this incident. An attempt was made to burn a girl in broad daylight, it is a very scary thing. A week ago, a student of FM College set herself on fire when he did not get justice. A horrific incident took place in Gopalpur a month ago.

Patnaik questioned, ‘Will the government wake up now? Will criminals be caught soon? And if there are no such incidents, no concrete steps will be taken? Odisha’s daughters want the answer.

July 12- Student committed suicide, accused arrested

The student was troubled by sexual harassment, she had set herself on fire when no hearing.

  • The student Fakir was a second year student in Integrated Bed Course at Fakir Mohan College. On July 12, he had set fire to the college campus by spraying kerosene on the college campus, upset by the Sexual Harassment of the Head of Department (HOD).
  • She had gone to the principal before the incident, but the principal asked her to withdraw her complaint. After this he committed self -immolation. The student was first admitted to Balasore District Hospital. From there, doctors referred AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
  • The Odisha police arrested the accused HOD Sameer Kumar Sahu on 12 July. The state government suspended the principal of the college Dilip Ghosh. However, the police also arrested the principal on 14 July amid protests across the state.
  • The student was burnt more than 95 percent. He died late on July 14 during treatment at Bhubaneswar AIIMS.
