Senior IAS officer of Odisha cadre, Bishnupad Sethi’s CBI team, got a sharp noise when the CBI team arrived on Tuesday to search their official residence to investigate the Rs 10 lakh bribe case.
IAS officer Bishnupad Sethi told reporters in the presence of Central Investigation Agency (CBI) officials, ‘CBI officials searched my residence, while there is no FIR against me. They are unnecessarily disturbing me.
The senior IAS officer said that the CBI came to search his house without any prior notice and not a single female officer is included in his eight -member team. Male officials searched my house, while his wife was the only woman in the house.
Bishnupad Sethi’s wife told the reporters present on the spot that she was being false and harassed. Sources alleged that the CBI had first summoned Sethi in connection with the bribery case, but he did not come.
Sethi, a 1995 batch IAS officer, claimed that he had no connection with Bridge and Roof Company (India) Limited or its Group General Manager Chanchal Mukherjee, who was arrested in the bribery case last year.
On 7 December, the agency arrested Mukherjee, taking bribe from Santosh Moharana, director of Penta -e -Studio Private Limited in Bhubaneswar and taking bribe from middleman Debadatta Mahapatra. Another person was also arrested in this connection.
After the arrest of the three, on December 10, the CBI sent a notice to Sethi to appear. The CBI letter written to Sethi said that it has been learned that you are familiar with some important and relevant facts and circumstances of the case, which is necessary to find out from you. Last year, the agency also questioned his drivers.
