Asaduddin Owaisi Claim on Hindu Temples: All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi claimed on Saturday (March 1, 2025) that American historian Richard M Eaton wrote in his book that only 80 temples were demolished during Muslim rule in India.
According to the ANI report, Owaisi said, “They say in the media everywhere that the temples were demolished 400 years ago. Richard M Eaton (American historian) wrote in his book ‘Temple Disconsequence and the Muslim States in Media in Media in Media in Media in’ during Muslim rule – 80 temples were destroyed during Muslim rule from 11th century to 1600.” He claimed that thousands of Buddhists were demolished by Pushyamitra Sung, the founder of the Sunga Empire.

Asaduddin Owaisi said, “Pushyamitra Sung has demolished thousands of Buddhist worship places. Will you make a film on it? Huen Tsang has written that Shashank has written that Shashank had cut the Bodhi tree.” Owaisi said that the Mughals used religion only to expand their rule. They use religion to expand their rule. ”
BJP and PM Modi targeted
Owaisi attacked the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that if he is fond of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, then he should announce Maratha reservation. He said, “If Narendra Modi and BJP are so fond of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, then provide reservation for the Marathas. Why don’t you do this?”
Owaisi also sarcasted Yogi Adityanath
Asaduddin Owaisi also took a scathing sarcasm on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over his recent remarks on Urdu language and said, “It is clear that UP CM does not know Urdu, but can only answer why he does not become scientists. No one has participated in the freedom struggle of this country. He was a famous Urdu poet from Gorakhpur, but he was not a Muslim.
