Pakistan air chief us visit: Military relations between Pakistan and America have started showing warmth again. After Field Marshal Asim Munir’s recent visit to America, Pakistan Air Force Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu has also made an official visit to America. This is the first time in the last decade when a major of Pakistan Air Force has gone to America.
The statement issued by the Pakistani Air Force said that the tour is a major step towards deepening defense cooperation between the two countries and taking forward strategic partnership. During this visit, issues related to regional and global security were also discussed.
Important meetings held in Pentagon
During his stay in America, Air Chief Sidhu visited the Pentagon and there, the International Affairs Secretary of the US Air Force, Kelly L.K. Sebolt and US Air Force Chief of Staff met General David W Alvin. According to the PAF statement, both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral military cooperation, joint training programs, defense technology and strengthening institutional communication.
Trust from China after Operation Sindoor?
During Operation Sindoor, India targeted many important military bases in Pakistan. It also included Chinese air defense systems, radars and fighter aircraft, which suffered heavy losses in Indian attacks. Now there are indications from Pakistan that it wants to increase defense cooperation from America instead of China.
Rana Sanaullah, advisor to Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, has made a big disclosure that Pakistan had only 30 to 35 seconds to react to India when the BrahMos missile was fired.
Interested in f-16 and Himars
Pakistan is now trying to get an advanced weapon platform like F-16 Block 70 fighter jets, air defense systems and Himars from the US. If this information is correct, then it means that Pakistan has no longer trust the capacity of Chinese weapons.
Chinese spokesperson postponed reply
China’s silence on India-Pakistan collision also indicates this changed trend. On the question asked in a press conference on May 30, Chinese Ministry spokesman Zhang Shiaogang refused to make any statement regarding the impact of Pakistan’s weapons.
Question on the functionality of Chinese weapons
Many of the weapons of Pakistan used in India’s attacks were based on Chinese technology. When asked questions from the Chinese Defense Ministry about the poor performance of these weapons, his spokesperson Zhang Shiaogang just avoided giving a clear answer, “Pakistan definitely got help from China’s air defense and satellite system, but their performance was less than average.”
He added, “We want to reiterate that India and Pakistan are neighbors that cannot be changed. We hope that both countries will maintain restraint and peace to prevent the situation from becoming more complicated.”
