Political rhetoric about India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ is getting intensified. Congress MLA from Karnataka, Kothur Manjunath, has expressed doubt on this military action, saying that ‘this was just a show, it did not get any justice nor the victims of Pahalgam attack true.’
Manjunath said in a strong manner, ‘Nothing happened. Just sent three-four aircraft from top to show off and called back. Will this give justice to 26-28 people killed in Pahalgam? Will the grief of those women be less like this? Is this the way to respect them?
Questions raised on government claims
After the Operation Sindoor performed on 7 May, the Government of India claimed that 9 major terrorist launchpads were destroyed in Pakistan and about 100 terrorists were killed. But the opposition and now Congress MLA Manjunath are looking at this claim with suspicion.

Manjunath also raised doubts over the confirmation of the killing of the terrorists responsible for the attack in the Basaron Valley of Pahalgam on 22 April. While questioning, he asked, ‘Is it sure that 100 terrorists were killed? What is their identity? Was he the same terrorist who attacked the Bisaran Valley on 22 April? ‘
He said, ‘Did it confirm that 100 terrorists were killed? Who were the terrorists who entered our border? What is their identity? Why was there no security on the border? How did they escape? We should identify the roots, branches and stems of terrorism and eliminate it. He called it a complete failure of the intelligence system.
‘The news is not the same, who should trust?’
The MLA also questioned the media and said, ‘All TV channels are narrating different stories. Some channel says hit here, some say there. Nobody is telling who actually killed, where he was killed, how many were killed. There was no clear statement from the government.

He also said that it was a major intelligence failure and until the roots of terrorism are destroyed, the solution is not possible. Opposing any kind of war against the citizens, Manjunath said, ‘We are against the war against the citizens anywhere Karnataka, Pakistan, China or Bangladesh. Do you know how their husbands were killed in front of those women? This action cannot eradicate their grief, this is not a solution.
India’s answer: only terrorists killed, not common citizens
The Government of India is constantly saying that only terrorist bases were attacked, no harm was done to ordinary citizens. The action was taken in response to the drone attacks from Pakistan and the Pahalgam terror attack, in which 25 Indians and 1 Nepali citizens were killed.
