Aadhaar card in Bihar Voter List Revision: The opposition is questioning the intention of the Election Commission on the ongoing politics on Bihar voter list revision. At the same time, according to Election Commission sources, the process of the Commission is completely correct according to the rules and law.

On the other hand, the matter was about the opposition’s questions being raised to complete the voter list revision in a month, before the year 2002, when the voter list revision was done, during that time, this work was completed during today’s process during today’s process.

There is a provision for printing, distribution and collection of calculation forms in 31 days

According to Election Commission sources, during the final voter list revision in Bihar in 2002, the printing, distribution and collection of calculation forms was done during 15 July to 14 August i.e. 31 days. Whereas this time the opposition is constantly raising the same question as to how the work is possible in a month. According to Election Commission sources, this time also the voter list revision i.e. SIR 2025 also has a provision for printing, distribution and storage of calculation forms between 24 June to 26 July i.e. 31 days on the lines of 2002.

TMC Question raised, Election Commission answered

Along with this, the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), which is currently questioning the process of the Election Commission, had strongly opposed to linking the voter ID card with Aadhaar card during separate meetings with the Election Commission. Whereas all the opposition parties which are needed in the documents that are needed during the voter list revision, are making the issue of non -availability of Aadhaar. Responding to them, the Election Commission sources said that

  • Aadhaar is not proof of citizenship
  • Aadhaar is not proof of date of birth
  • Aadhaar is not proof of birth place
  • It only defines that 10 fingers, photos and iris are of the name of the person mentioned in the Aadhaar card.
  • Therefore, on every Aadhaar card, it is written in the bold that “Aadhaar is a proof of identity, not citizenship or date of birth”

And for this reason, the Aadhaar card voter list has not been included in the list of documents during the revision work.

Voter list revision process fully compatible with law

On the one hand, on the one hand, the opposition is constantly attacking the Election Commission, so the Election Commission is constantly trying to explain that the process of revision of voter list is fully compatible with law, constitution and rules. Whatever decision the Election Commission has taken, it has taken full precautions and facts in mind. For this reason, there should not be any politics on this unnecessary.
