A woman has made serious allegations against Padmashri respected Kartik Maharaj associated with Bharat Sevashram Sangh. The woman has alleged that Maharaj cheated her first by pretending to be a job and then forcibly made physical relations with her. In this case, an FIR has been lodged at Nabgram police station in Murshidabad district and the police has started investigating.
The complainant woman spoke to the media keeping her identity secret and told that in the year 2013, Kartik Maharaj took her to the primary school of an ashram in Murshidabad on the pretext of getting a job. The woman was appointed as a teacher and a room was also given to stay in the same ashram complex.
The woman alleges that one night suddenly Kartik Maharaj came to her room and proposed to have a physical relationship. The woman claims that when she protested, she was forced to make a relationship by putting mental pressure and showing fear.
What did the police say?
According to police sources, a case has been registered in Nabgram police station under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Accused Kartik Maharaj is associated with the monastery of Bharat Sevashram Sangh at Beldanga. After the complaint is registered, the police has started investigation and the statement of the victim has been recorded. Other legal procedures including medical examination are also being adopted.
Kartik Maharaj denied allegations
Kartik Maharaj has dismissed all the allegations against him outright. He says that he is a monk and such hurdles continue to come in the path of renunciation. He said that he respects the judiciary and his legal side will present his lawyer in the court.
Please tell that the political connection of Kartik Maharaj also makes this matter more complicated. He is considered close to the Bharatiya Janata Party. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has already accused her of helping the BJP many times before, especially during the elections.
