In Damoh city of Madhya Pradesh, the police have registered a case against two persons for hurting religious sentiments. Both of them are accused of putting objectionable posts on social media regarding the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Kashmir.
Posts hurting religious sentiments
Damoh City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Abhishek Tiwari informed that when the attack took place in Pahalgam on Tuesday afternoon, the police was keeping an eye on social media. Meanwhile, the Kotwali police station in -charge found two such posts which could spoil social harmony and hurt religious sentiments.

Accused of trying to disturb communal peace
Both these persons have been booked under the relevant sections of the Code of Justice of India (BNS). Both belong to a particular community and are accused of provoking religious sentiments and trying to disturb communal peace against them.

CSP Tiwari said that the investigation of the case is going on and both the accused are being searched. They will soon be questioned in custody.
26 people lost their lives
The case has come to light after a terrible attack in which terrorists opened fire in the open ground in Pahalgam town of Anantnag district of South Kashmir. 26 people died in this attack, most of which were tourists from other states. It is being described as the biggest terrorist attack in the valley after the 2019 Pulwama attack.

The police has also appealed to the general public to take precautions while posting on sensitive topics on social media and avoid rumors.

Every year a large number of tourists visit this beautiful valley. The firing incident occurred at a time when the tourism season had started and there was a lot of congestion in the valley.
