On 22 April, terrorists fired on tourists in Baysaran Valley of Pahalgam. 26 people, including a local, died in the attack.

The mastermind of the attack is said to be the commander of Lashkar, Suleman, who has been involved in many major attacks in Kashmir earlier. Suleman is also accused of killing seven laborers at the Z Mode Tunnel of Sonamarg.
