Taking major action against drug trafficking in Punjab, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police along with BSF and Rajasthan Police has busted an international drug syndicate. 60 kg of heroin was recovered from the Indo-Pak border in Barmer, Rajasthan.

According to the police, the network was being operated by Tanveer Shah of Pakistan, while it was operating abroad, handling it in Joban Kaller in Canada. DGP Gaurav Yadav said that there are constant arrests in the case and investigation is going on, more arrests may be done soon.
9 main accused arrested from across the country
9 main operatives associated with this network and agents associated with hawala network have been arrested from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir. All these accused were involved in funding through smuggling, distribution and hawala of drugs.
Resolve to free Punjab from narco-terreism
DGP Punjab has tweeted that it is fully committed to free Punjab from narco-terracemm. The police has emphasized that action is being taken with all security agencies to uproot such international network from the root.
