PAK vs SA: Only 11 runs needed… Batsman missed century against Pakistan, returned disappointed

New Delhi. The test series between South Africa and Pakistan has started. The first test is being played in Centurion. In the second day’s play, South African opener Aiden Markram missed completing his eighth Test century and took South Africa to a good score till lunch on the second day of the first Test against Pakistan on Friday.

Markram was batting well but he was out after scoring 89 runs on the ball of Khurram Shahzad. He faced 144 balls to score 89 runs. He hit a total of 15 fours in his innings. His strike rate was around 61. Apart from Markram, captain Temba Bavuma scored 31 runs and David Bedingham scored 30 runs. South Africa’s position is almost fine in the first innings.

South Africa is currently on top in the World Test Championship table. If it wins one match of the two-Test series against Pakistan, it will secure its place in the final of the World Test Championship to be held in London in June next year. At the same time, Pakistan is at seventh place in this table. In the first day’s play, Markram was unbeaten after scoring 47 runs.
