Pakistan now made ISI Chief Lieutenant General Asim Malik the new National Security Advisor of Pakistan amid increasing tension after the Pahalgam attack. Although this appointment was on 29 April, it was released in the release media around 1:30 am on 1 May.
Earlier on April 30, the Government of India has re -constituted the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB). Alok Joshi, former head of Research and Analysis Wing (R& AW, Raw), has been made its new chairman.
6 members in NSAB, former officers of Army, Navy and Air Force
After the Government of India’s decision, now the NSAB will also have 6 members. Among them are former officers of Army, Navy and Air Force. Also, former diplomat and former IPS officer have also been included in it.
The government has taken this decision in view of the Pahalgam terror attack. NSAB will input the National Security Council Secretariat. This decision was taken in the Cabinet Committee (CCS) meeting on the security held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of PM Modi.
