Pakistan becomes the president of United Nations Security Council! Told which two issues will work to work – Pakistan Starts UNSC President from Tuesday for July Month Says will convene two signature events ntcprk

Pakistan has received the chairmanship of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the month of July 2025 from Tuesday to 2025. The chairmanship of the Security Council, as a temporary member of the council, is part of Pakistan’s two -year term which began in January 2025. Pakistan got 182 votes out of 193 to become temporary members in UNSC. The council chaired the alphabetic order among its 15 member countries changing monthly and in this sequence, Pakistan has received the UNSC.

In a statement about the chairmanship of UNSC, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said, ‘Pakistan will fulfill this responsibility with a deep sense of humility and determination. Our view will be based on the objectives and principles of the United Nations Charter, respect for international law and strong commitment to carrying everyone along.

Pakistan Ambassador to the United Nations, Aseem Iftikhar Ahmed, while speaking to Pakistan’s Government News Agency Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), said, “Pakistan’s chairmanship will be transparent, carrying everyone along.”

All major global issues of the council to be held in July will be chaired by Ambassador Iftikhar Ahmed. He said that he is fully aware of the world’s difficult periods, rising instability, dangers for international peace and security, increasing conflicts and deepening human crises.

Pakistani ambassadors have already met UN Secretary -General Antonio Guterres and have informed them about the schedule of the council in July.

The Pakistani envoy said, ‘As a country that has constantly conveyed negotiations and diplomacy, Pakistan brings a theoretical and balanced view in the work of the Security Council. We are ready to work closely with all the members in accordance with our primary responsibility and the expectations of United Nations membership under the United Nations Charter.

Pakistan will organize two signatures programs during Presidency

The statement issued by the Pakistani Foreign Ministry further stated that the Presidency will organize two high-level signature programs during July- debate on promoting international peace and security through peaceful solutions of disputes on 22 July and conversation between the United Nations and the Islamic Cooperation Council on 24 July.

It said that both the meetings will be chaired by Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, who will also preside over the open debate of three months on the issue of Palestine on 23 July.

Pakistan has been a member of the United Nations Security Council before this seven times-2012-13, 2003-04, 1993-94, 1983-84, 1976-77, 1968-69 and 1952-53.

At the same time, talk of India, India has been selected as a temporary member of the United Nations Security Council 8 times-2021-2022, 2011-2012, 1991-1992, 1984-1985, 1977-1978, 1972-1973, 1967-1968, 1950-1951.
