According to Ludhiana doctors, Sukhwinder Kaur, a resident of village Khai Fame, who was the wife of Lakhwinder Singh, was burnt up to 100 per cent and died a few days later. At the same time, Lakhwinder Singh was burnt up to about 70 percent, whose condition was continuously critical.

Private hospital asked for money in advance: Before the treatment of the injured here, the doctor asked to deposit 40 thousand rupees. Treatment of family members was necessary, so Timardars collected money from relatives and gathered the money to the hospital.
Punjab government ministers visited: The next day after the accident, ministers of Punjab government visited the hospital. Punjab Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudis reached Ferozepur on May 10 and met the injured and announced that the government would bear the entire cost of treatment.
