Pakistan train attack: On Tuesday (March 11, 2025), the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) attacked the Jaffer Express train in Pakistan and hijacked it. A video of this incident is becoming fiercely viral on social media, which claimed that this is a video of the attack on the train. The Pakistani media has checked the fact on the matter and told the truth of it.

According to Pakistan’s Don News, this video shared is from April 2022 and has nothing to do with the current attack. A day earlier, the Jafar Express train going from Quetta to Peshawar was attacked and about 400 passengers, including about 200 security personnel, were taken hostage.

The BLA has taken responsibility for this attack, in which at least 10 people including the train driver died. On the other hand, security forces have confirmed that they had an operation in Dhadar area of ​​Boln Pass to save the hostages, killing at least 16 attackers.

Video of attack on train shared on X

The video shared on social media showed an attack and explosion on the train near a mountainous area. In the caption of the post, it was written, “Train hijac in Pakistan. Jafar Express going from Quetta to Peshawar was hijacked after the IED blast. BLA fighters took 182 people hostage after taking possession of Jafar Express. 11 Pakistani soldiers have been killed.”

This video was viewed more than 6,54,000 times and shared 2,100 times. The upper right corner of the video also has BLA logo.

Pakistan told that video is fake

According to Don’s report, the fact was checked the fact that it is becoming increasingly viral and what was told about the details and scenes of the attack is correct or not. According to media reports, after analyzing the video, it is found that it contains fact missing as it showed an open explosion while the Jafar Express train was attacked near a tunnel. The same video was found in an X post on the reverse image search on April 15, 2022.
