Pakistan Politics | Pakistan Politics: Jaffer Express Hijacked and MLA in Balochistan assembly opened the government’s pole, said

Balochistan Crisis: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) in Balochistan, Pakistan hijacked the Jafar Express on Tuesday (March 11, 2025). The BLA first blown the railway track, due to which the Jafar Express stopped and they took the train under their control. After this, the issue was raised by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) MLA Mir Zafar Jehri in the Balochistan Assembly. He said in the assembly that the separatists are holding more than the government in the state and they are running the rule.

Jehri said that instead of Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) head Bashir Jeb Baloch and Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) leader Dr. Allah Nazar is more dominated. He claimed that separatists patrol the streets at night, make checkposts and are more effective than administration.

Women are helping separatists

According to the MLA, local people believe more in separatists than government. He said that women are voluntarily handing over their jewelry to BLA fighters. Jehri criticized the government’s military action and said that if the atrocities continue, the new generation will create more rebel.

Mir Zafar Jehri warns the government

Jehri warned the government that the results would be serious if the policy of forcible suppression was adopted in Balochistan. Giving the example of Iraq’s dictator Saddam Hussain, he said that if the government used chemical weapons, then its result can be the same.

Government accused of supporting banned organizations

On the allegations of supporting the banned organizations and the Baloch Sathi Committee (BYC) by the government, Jehri replied that if there is any such evidence, the government should set up a joint investigation team (JIT) and conduct an inquiry. He also said that the return of missing people is possible only after protests and jamming roads.

Government advice to take concrete steps

He said that the present government has lost control over the situation. He criticized Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti’s policy to directly look into the security matters and suggested that this responsibility should be entrusted to a dedicated Home Minister.

Opposition condemns attacks

Leader of the Opposition Mir Yunis Aziz Jehri condemned the recent incidents of violence in Balochistan. He said that the leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Jui) have been killed in Khukjar and Turubat, which is responsible for the ruling party. He said that first an attempt was made to exclude JUI-F from power and now their leaders are being targeted.

Government claims to take a tough stand on terrorism

Balochistan’s Planning and Development Minister Mir Zahur Bulayidi said that the state has been a victim of terrorism for a long time and no political party can be considered untouched by it. He said that the government is fully committed to dealing with terrorists and appealed to the opposition to cooperate in this fight.
