Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan wants to resolve all issues including Kashmir with India through dialogue. Along with this, he reiterated his support towards Kashmiri people. Shahbaz Sharif made this comment while addressing a special session of Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (PoK) assembly in Muzaffarabad.
Shahbaz Sharif said that we want all issues including Kashmir to be resolved through negotiation. He said that India should come out of the thinking of 5 August 2019 and should fulfill the promises made to the United Nations and start negotiations. He referred to the cancellation of Article-370, which ended the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and divided the state into 2 union territories.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the only way for Pakistan and India to move forward is the dialogue, as has already been written in the 1999 Lahore manifesto, which was agreed during the visit of the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee during the visit of Pakistan.
At the same time, India has repeatedly said that it wants a general neighbor relationship with Pakistan in an atmosphere free of terror, enmity and violence. India has repeatedly told Pakistan that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Union Territories were always an integral part of India, and will remain. But after India canceled Article-370, the relations between the two countries soured.
Shahbaz Sharif accused India of strengthening his relations with Pakistan. He said that depositing weapons will not bring peace nor will the fate of the people of this region change. He urged India to work wisely and said that the path of progress is peace. He said that the only solution to the Kashmir issue is the right to self -determination under the UNSC proposal.
The chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff Committee, Service Heads and Pakistan Armed Forces also confirmed their support towards the people of Kashmir. PoK Prime Minister Anwarul Haque said that Pakistan is the last destination of Kashmiris. Also said that till the issue of Kashmir is resolved, peace will not be possible in the area.
