Pakistani prisoner Mohammad Masroof alias Mansoor alias Guddu was released in Gorakhpur jail on charges of treason. The process of release was completed after the order of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Under the supervision of District Jail Police and Security Agencies, he was sent to the Pakistani Embassy in Delhi from Gorakhpur. After completing the legal process from there, the attic will be taken to the border on 7 February. Where his document will be examined. Then Masroof will be handed over to Pakistani officials.
Arrest was made on charges of espionage and treason
According to the information, Masroof alias Guddu is a resident of Karachi. He was arrested by the Bahraich police in 2008 for espionage, sedition, forgery and conspiracy. Because, security agencies suspected that it was collecting information for terrorist organizations in India. After investigation, a case of sedition and espionage was filed against him. In 2013, the court sentenced him.
Masroof was transferred to Varanasi Central Jail in 2015. But according to the jail administration, he tried to incite the prisoners there and rebell. Then in 2019, on the instructions of the government, he was brought to Gorakhpur Jail and kept in the High Security Barrack.
Release after completion of sentence
Since, now Mo Masroof’s sentence has been completed, so after legal formalities, it was decided to release it. The administration has given this information to the Pakistani Embassy. On Wednesday, he was sent to Delhi from Gorakhpur jail at 9.30 am, from where on 7 February, he will be taken to the attic border and handed over to the Pakistani officials.
After nearly 17 years of Indian jail, now Mo. Masroof will return to his homeland Pakistan. Under the supervision of security agencies, he will be taken to Delhi and then to the attic border. It has been talked to the Pakistani High Commission in this regard.
