Rekha Gupta, who became MLA for the first time, will be the new Chief Minister of Delhi. The BJP announced this on Wednesday. In the BJP Legislature Party meeting, Gupta was elected the leader of the House in the Delhi Assembly. Rekha Gupta and her cabinet minister will take oath of office at Ramlila Maidan on Thursday. She will be the fourth woman Chief Minister of Delhi after Sushma Swaraj, Sheila Dixit and Atishi. She will currently be the only female Chief Minister in BJP ruled states.
Rekha Gupta met Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Wednesday evening and claimed to form the government in the national capital. He was accompanied by state BJP observers Ravi Shankar Prasad and OP Dhankhar, city BJP president Virendra Sachdeva and Delhi MPs Flute Swaraj, Praveen Khandelwal and Kamaljeet Sehrawat. BJP national vice president Baijayant Jai Panda was also present at the Raj Niwas.

After this, Rekha Gupta while talking to the media said, “I want to thank Prime Minister Modi and the BJP high command of Delhi that they gave me this opportunity. A new chapter is starting after 27 years. It is starting. It is a moment of pride. We have claimed to form the government.
Fourth woman CM in Delhi
Former President of Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) and Municipal Corporation Councilor Rekha Gupta Madan Lal Khurana, Sahib Singh Verma and Sushma Swaraj will be the fourth Chief Minister of BJP in Delhi. The new BJP government led by Gupta will take oath at a grand ceremony at Ramlila Maidan in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries on Thursday afternoon.

Rekha Gupta, originally from Jind, Haryana, was born in Julana in 1974. His family shifted to Delhi after getting a father’s job in SBI Bank. However, his family still does business in Julana. Rekha Gupta has to visit her home state due to belonging to Haryana adjacent to Delhi. Rekha Gupta is married to Delhi businessman Manish Gupta.
