The monsoon session of Parliament starts on Monday. There is a possibility of uproar on issues like Operation Sindoor, India-Pakistan ceasefire, claims on Donald Trump’s ceasefire and Bihar voter list. Opposition wants an answer from the PM on all these issues.
In the all -party meeting on Sunday, the opposition including the Congress has indicated this. Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said that it is a moral responsibility to respond to the PM as the head of the country.

Parliament’s monsoon session will run 32 days
The monsoon session of Parliament will run 32 days from 21 July to 21 August. A total of 18 meetings, more than 15 bills will be introduced in 32 days. Parliament will not be proceeded with the Independence Day celebrations on 13-14 August. PM Modi will address the media before the House begins.
The central government will present 8 new in the monsoon session, while 7 pending bills will be discussed. These include bills like Manipur GST Amendment Bill 2025, Income Tax Bill, National Sports Governance Bill.
On the first day, the report of the Parliamentary Committee on the new income tax bill will be presented in the Lok Sabha. The committee has given 285 suggestions. The 622 -page bill will replace the 6 decade -old Income Tax Act 1961.

India block meeting held 2 days before monsoon session
The India block meeting was attended by 24 parties including Congress, TMC, DMK, RJD, SP, NCP-SP, Shiv Sena (UBT).
Before the commencement of the monsoon session, on July 19, parties of India Block held an online meeting. During this time, the opposition parties have decided that Pahalgam attack in Parliament, Trump’s ceasefire claims, Bihar sir, delimitation will raise 8 major issues.

New income tax bill was presented in Lok Sabha in February
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman introduced the Income Tax Bill in the Lok Sabha on 13 February 2025.
The new Income Tax Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 13 February 2025. After this, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla formed 31 Committee headed by BJP leader Baijayant Panda on 14 February.
The proposed law will be called the Income Tax Act 2025 and is expected to be effective in April 2026. The current Income Tax Act was passed in 1961. Which was effective since 1 April 1962. In this, more than 4 thousand amendments were made in 65 times under the Finance Act.
The aim of the new income tax bill is to make the law simple and clear. About 3 lakh words have been reduced from this new bill. The old law had a total of 880 pages. The new law has 622 pages. Most of the most conditions have been eliminated in this.

There were 26 meetings in the last session of Parliament
Prior to the monsoon session, the previous session of Parliament was at 2025. The budget session took place in two parts. The first phase was from 31 January to 13 February 2025, while the second phase ran from 10 March to 4 April 2025.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said- A total of 26 meetings of Lok Sabha were held in the budget session. Its production was 118 percent. During this period 10 new government bills were introduced and 16 bills were passed. These mainly included the Waqf Amendment Bill, 2025 and the Muslim Waqf (Relations) Bill, 2024. The Rajya Sabha lasted a total of 159 hours, the productivity of 119 percent.

Monsoon session 2024: 12 bills were presented in Lok Sabha
Last year, the production of the monsoon session was 136%.
The last monsoon session lasted from 22 July to 9 August. At the conclusion of this session, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said, “There were a total of 15 meetings throughout the session, which lasted for about 115 hours”.
He also stated that, ‘Productivity of the House was 136% during the session. Apart from this, the Finance Minister introduced the Union Budget 2024-2025 in the House on 23 July. It discussed for a total of 27 hours and 19 minutes, in which 181 members participated. Also, a total of 65 private members bills were also introduced in the session.
