Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Monday asked opposition MPs to remain calm. If they did not agree, the speaker postponed the proceedings.

Tuesday is the 12th day of the monsoon session of Parliament. Action will start in both houses from 11 am. During this time, there is a possibility of uproar on the issue of voters list revision (SIR) in Bihar in both the houses. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting. The meeting is taking place after a long time and it will include alliance MPs with BJP.

At the same time, the government can introduce the National Sports Governance Bill, 2025 and the National Anti-Doping Act (Amendment) Bill 2025 in the Lok Sabha. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Monday that if the opposition continues to stop functioning, then the government will be forced to pass its necessary bills.

Earlier on Monday, as soon as the proceedings started in the Lok Sabha, the opposition started an uproar demanding a discussion on the issue of SIR in Bihar. After this, the speaker postponed the proceedings till 2 pm and then till 11 am on Tuesday morning.

At the same time, after the commencement of proceedings in the Rajya Sabha, he was paid tribute to the death of sitting MP Shibu Soren. MPs kept silence in his honor. After this, Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh suspended the Rajya Sabha proceedings till 11 am on Tuesday morning.

In 11 days, only two days have been discussed throughout the day Parliamentary proceedings have been almost stalled since the monsoon session, which started on 21 July. Opposition parties protested every day on the verification case of voters in Bihar. During 11 days, on July 28 and 29, the entire day’s proceedings took place in the House. Both days, Pahalgam terror attacks and Operation Sindoor were discussed in both houses.

2 bills can be introduced today

National Sports Governance Bill 2025- There is a law brought for better operation and transparency of sports organizations and players. Its purpose is to ensure that the Sports Association (eg – BCCI, IOA, Hockey India etc.) work well and protect the rights and interests of the players.

National Anti-Doping Act (Amendment) Bill- The purpose of this bill is to stop doping among the players. This bill will give more strength to the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) and will try to make the investigation process transparent and fair by making it an independent institution.

The monsoon session will run 32 days, there will be 18 meetings

The monsoon session of Parliament will run from 21 July to 21 August i.e. 32 days. During this time there will be 18 meetings, more than 15 bills will be introduced. Parliament will not be proceeded with the Independence Day celebrations on 13-14 August.

The central government will introduce 8 new bills in the monsoon session, while 7 pending bills will be discussed. These include bills like Manipur GST Amendment Bill 2025, Income Tax Bill, National Sports Governance Bill.

On the first day, the report of the Parliamentary Committee on the new income tax bill will be presented in the Lok Sabha. The committee has given 285 suggestions. The 622 -page bill will replace the 6 decade -old Income Tax Act 1961.
