A committee of Parliament has stated that it has shown from the Ministry of Defense that a Future Warfare Fund has been set up within the armed forces, while an analysis group is proposed to study future technologies and their influences.
The Standing Committee on Defense, headed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Radha Mohan Singh, also said that discussions are on to reorganize the armed forces in the integrated theater command and is being investigated at various levels before finalizing the organizational structure to meet the appropriate organizing requirements.
The ministry also told the committee that since integration is an important improvement, there is a need to resolve many complex issues widely. The seventh report on the demands of the Ministry of Defense for the year 2025-26 was presented in Parliament on Monday.
The total outlay of the Ministry of Defense for the budget estimate year 2025-26 is Rs 6,81,210.27 crore and it is about 13.45 percent of the total expenditure (Rs 50.65 lakh crore) of the Government of India, which is the highest among all ministries.
The committee said in its report that it has come to know from the report of the ministry that a ‘Future Warfare Fund’ (Future War Fund) has been set up within the armed forces. It is also proposed to establish an analysis group to study future techniques and their effects.
The committee said in its report, “According to the presentation of the Ministry of Defense, no proposal is being carried forward for the expansion of the existing commands of the armed forces.” The report said that the Ministry said that the integrated theater command will facilitate better coordination and integrated use of force, which will increase operational efficiency and improve resources better.
