After the Pulwama attack in 2019, more organizations became strict about the matter. Now after the Pahalgam attack and operation vermilion, the anger of the Indian public about Pakistan is at its peak.
The makers of ‘Sardarji 3’ must have done the cast to Hania before the current stress of India and Pakistan. But even if we talk about before, then since 2016, the ban was going on on Pakistani artists. But not only Diljit’s film, but also in many other projects, the makers tried to cast Pakistani artists and after the public opposition, these projects are clouded with controversies.
Prabhas’s film broke out
In Pan India superstar Prabhas’s film ‘Fauji’, the makers cast viral content creator Eman Ismail as the lead actress. The film was also launched with Pooja in Hyderabad. But in April, when people again angry over Pakistani actors after the Pahalgam attack, many people said about Iman that they are of Pakistani origin.
Many people even alleged that their father had lived in the Pakistani army. However, Iman called himself a ‘Proud Indo-American’, calling these allegations ‘baseless’ on his social media story. But in the meantime, the screenshot of one of his old social Instagram story went viral in which he wrote that his mother was an Indian and father Pakistani, so he got a chance to understand the culture of both countries.
There has been no statement about this from the makers of ‘Fauji’ or Prabhas. Some reports also said that after the controversy over Iman, the makers are considering casting another actress in their place. But so far no official information has been revealed about this.
Abir Gulal
In 2016, Fawad Khan worked in many Bollywood films before the ban on Pakistani actors. But after the ban, he stayed away from Indian films. However, Fawad Khan and Bollywood actress Vani Kapoor appeared in the lead role in the film ‘Abir Gulal’ being called ‘International Production’. The producers of this film are Indians and most of the Indians are Indians in its cast.
‘Abir Gulal’ was scheduled to release in theaters on 9 May. But before this, there was a demand to stop the release of this film in India after the Pahalgam attack. But after the entire controversy, the release of ‘Abir Gulal’ has been postponed for an indefinite time. Reports say that this film has also been banned in Pakistan after increasing Indo-Pak tension.
Sanam Teri Kasam 2
The work of Harshvardhan Rane and Pakistani actress Mavra Hocken was well liked in the Bollywood film ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ (2016). Last year, the makers announced the sequel of this film, but only Harshvardhan’s name was confirmed. After Operation Sindoor this year, the film’s director pair Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru confirmed that they were not going to cast Mavra in the sequel. Harshvardhan also said that if the old cast is repeated in ‘Sanam Teri Kasam 2’, then he will leave the film.
Love Story of 90s
Singer Atif Aslam was getting a lot of popularity in India before the ban on Pakistani artists. At one time he was the competition of Arijit Singh. Even after the 2016 ban, Atif continued to work in Bollywood and in 2019, he sang for the last Bollywood song ‘Hum Char’ (2019) before the demand for ban and strong in 2019.
After this, Atif was not seen singing for Bollywood films. But in the teaser of Suman’s film ‘Love Story of 90s’ in 2024, Atif’s voice was heard again. The makers of the film themselves confirmed that they have sung a song from Atif and they are very happy about their return. The film was scheduled to release in February last year but Raj Thackeray’s party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) warned the producers of the film that ‘Pakistani actors will not be tolerated to work’.
After this, Atif’s song was not released from this film. Due to some reasons, ‘Love Story of 90s’ went away. In the current situation, the release of this film with Atif’s song is not possible.
Why is the film industry in a hurry to work with Pakistani artists?
This year, India-Pakistan relations remain very tense after the Pahalgam attack and operation vermilion. But the question is that when the issue of ban on Pakistani artists is hot since 2016, then what is the hurry of filmmakers to work with Pakistani artists? The art does not see the border and the artists belong to every one country, but every art lover… such ideal things, suit in ideal times.
But when there is almost war -like situation on the border of two countries, there is a continuous heat on the issue of terrorism and the artists on the other side are constantly making anti -India statements, then the filmmakers should have avoided this ruckus.
