Jasprit Bumrah said in the press conference, ‘People felt that I would play only 8 months in all these years. Some said that 10 months, but now I have played 10 years international cricket and 12-13 years IPL. Even now people say after every injury that I will not be able to play further. Let them say, I will keep doing my work. These things will continue to be revealed every 4 months, but as long as God is pleased, I will keep playing.
Shoaib Akhtar was in a way!
Jasprit Bumrah has also taunted former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, who once said that Bumrah will not be able to play much in all three formats due to his action. Akhtar had said that if Bumrah keeps playing continuously, he will break in a year. Akhtar then also said that when the frontal arm action bowler has a back injury, he does not leave him. Akhtar gave the example of former New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond to explain this.
Jasprit Bumrah further said, ‘I make the best preparations on my behalf. Then I leave God how much he shows more blessings on me. What people write is out of my control. I cannot advise people what they write about me. If they get readers by writing about me, then I have no problem in this.
In the Leeds Test match, the Indian team left six catches in the first innings, out of which four catches were left out of Bumrah. Regarding this, Jaspreet Bumrah said, ‘This is part of the game. We should focus on further sports instead of thinking about it. If the catchs were taken, it would have been natural naturally. Hopefully players will learn from their mistakes.
