A shocking case has come to light in Shivamogga, Karnataka. A mobile phone has been found inside a high-security jail here, but this seizure is not from a bag, cupboard or cell, but from the stomach of a prisoner. This surprising incident has raised serious questions on the security system of the jail. A high -level inquiry into the matter has been ordered.
According to the information, a prisoner named Daulat alias Gunda (30), who is jailed, is serving a 10 -year sentence. On 24 June, he complained of stomach ache and told the jail officials that he had swallowed something. After this, the jail administration immediately admitted him to the Government McGain Hospital in Shivamogga. There the doctors got her X-ray done after examination. He was surprised to see the report.
Doctors saw a mobile phone stuck in the intestines of the prisoner. According to the medical report, this phone was about 1 inch wide and 3 inches long, which was swallowed by the prisoner. After the patient’s consent, the doctors performed the operation and on 8 July the phone was taken out. Doctors have handed over the mobile phone to the jail administration in a sealed envelope.
With this, questions have been raised on the security system and the role of jail staff. After all, how did the mobile phone reach inside the jail amidst such a tough monitoring? Jail Superintendent Ranganath P. has lodged a complaint with this entire case at Tunganagar police station. A case has been registered against the accused prisoner under the relevant sections of the Code of India.
The district administration has ordered to seriously investigate the incident. It is suspected that some jail staff may be involved in this smuggling through bribe or collusion. Now the scope of investigation focuses on finding out whether it was negligent in security or part of a planned conspiracy? However, before this a similar case has been reported in this jail.
