Leg-spinner Priush Chawla has announced retirement from all formats of cricket. Piyush Chawla announced his reality on social media. Piyush Chawla was part of the Indian team in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup. Both of them were won by India under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
He saw a long wide post. Piyush wrote in his post- after spending more than two decades on the ground, now the time has come to say goodbye to this beautiful game. From representing India to becoming a part of the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup winning team, every moment of this amazing journey has been a blessing for me. These memories will always remain in my heart.
Chawla further wrote, ‘I heartily thank all the IPL franchises who expressed confidence in me- Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. The Indian Premier League has been a very special chapter of my career and I have appreciated every moment while playing in it. I am my coaches- K.K. I specially thank Gautam and the late Pankaj Saraswat, who played an important role in improving and grooming me as cricketers.
Chawla writes, ‘My family, who always has the strongest pillar of my strength: I remained the foundation in every high and low of your unwavering. Especially my late father, whose faith showed me this path. Without them, this journey could never be possible. I also thank BCCI, UPCA (Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association) and GCA (Gujarat Cricket Association) who gave me a platform and opportunities to enhance and express myself as cricketers.
