PM Modi Arrives in Bangkok to Enthusiastic Welcome by Indian DiasPora

PM Modi in Bimstec Summit 2025 , Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Bangkok on Thursday (April 3). In Bangkok, Indian migrants warmly welcomed Prime Minister Modi by raising slogans of ‘Modi-Modi’ and ‘Vande Mataram’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the airport, including Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister Suria Jungringarengkit.

During this, PM Modi shared a post on a social media platform. In this post, the Prime Minister wrote, “I landed in Bangkok, Thailand. I am eager to participate in the upcoming official programs, strengthen the bond of cooperation between India and Thailand.”

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Modi has reached Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, to attend the sixth BIMSTEC summit. He will discuss major areas of cooperation with regional leaders on Friday (April 4). Apart from this, PM Modi will also hold bilateral talks with Thai leadership to strengthen India-Thailand relations.

PM of Indian community people will meet in Bangkok

After the arrival of Bangkok, the Prime Minister is scheduled to interact with the Indian migrants, in which he will underline deep cultural, economic relations between India and Thailand.

Earlier, in his departure statement, PM Modi said, “I am leaving for the official visit to Thailand and the sixth BIMSTEC summit today on the invitation of Prime Minister Partagarna Shinavatra.” He said, “In the last decade, BIMSTEC has emerged as an important platform to promote regional development, connectivity, economic progress in the Bay region of Bengal. Due to its geographical location, the northeastern region of India is at the center of BIMSTEC.”

PM expresses curiosity for talks with BIMSTEC leaders

Expressing enthusiasm about the talks with BIMSTEC leaders, the Prime Minister said, “I am eager to interact creatively to meet leaders of BIMSTEC countries and strengthen our cooperation.”

BIMSTEC is a regional group, consisting of seven member countries of the Bay region of Bengal. Five from South Asia (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka) and two from Southeast Asia (Myanmar and Thailand). The group acts as an important bridge between South Asia and Southeast Asia. India is its largest and most influential member, which shapes its agenda and promotes cooperation in various fields.
