Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Rio de Janeiro in Brazil to attend the 17th BRICS summit, where he received a strong reception at the International Airport in Gallio. This is the PM’s two -phase visit to Brazil, which is taking place at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Enecio Lula Da Silva. During this visit, PM will visit the capital Brasilia after attending Rio’s BRICS summit.
After reaching Rio de Janeiro, the PM posted on X and wrote, ‘I have reached Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where I will attend the BRICS summit and then I will go to Brasilia for its capital visit to the state visit at the invitation of President Lula. A meaningful phase of meetings and conversation is expected during this journey.
Bilateral talks will be held with the President of Brazil
In Brasilia, PM Modi will hold bilateral discussion with President Lula. The purpose of which is to further strengthen the strategic partnership between India and Brazil. This partnership will focus on expansion in major areas such as trade, defense, energy, space, technology, agriculture, health and public relations. Given the increasing participation between the two countries, this meeting is considered important.
Bilateral talks with global leaders
At the same time, Prime Minister Modi will hold bilateral meetings with various global leaders at the 17th BRICS summit held at Rio de Janeiro. The BRICS group, which originally included Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The group gradually expanded and joined Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, Indonesia and Iran, making it one of the most powerful alliances of emerging economies worldwide.
Before Brazil, Prime Minister Modi went to Ghana on 2-3 July at the invitation of President John Droni Mahama, where he also addressed the country’s Parliament. On July 3-4, he went to Trinidad and Tobago, where he met President Christine Carla Kangalu and Prime Minister Kamla Prasad Bisacer.
After this, PM went on a tour of Argentina, which was the first bilateral visit of an Indian Prime Minister in 57 years. This journey has given a new pace to relations between India and Argentina. After Brazil, Prime Minister Modi will visit Namibia on 9 July and will also address the Parliament there. Prime Minister Modi has made an eight -day visit to five countries from Ghana on Wednesday, which will conclude on 9 July.
