Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived on a two -day visit to Mauritius. Mauritius PM Naveen Chandra Ramgulam gave him a grand welcome at Port Louis Airport. PM Modi will be the chief guest at Mauritius’ Independence Day celebrations. On Tuesday evening, PM Modi addressed people of Indian origin.
PM Modi said in his address, ‘This time the color of Holi in Mauritius will be scattered only after one day. On the 14th, there will be a shower of colors all around. Ram will have a dholak in his hands, Manjira in Laxman’s hands, Kanak Pichkari in Bharat’s hands, and Shatrughna’s hands will be Abir and Jogira. Now when it comes to Holi, how can the sweetness of Gujia be forgotten? There was a time when sugar used to come from Mauritius for sweets in the western part of India. Perhaps this is the reason that ‘Chinese’ was also called ‘Moras’ in Gujarati language. Over time, this sweetness of India and Mauritius relations is increasing even more. With this sweetness, I heartily congratulate all the residents of Mauritius on National Day.
Feeling of loved ones
PM Modi said, ‘Friends, whenever I come to Mauritius, it seems as if I have come among my loved ones. Here the feeling of belonging in the air, soil and water is absorbed. India’s fragrance is also inhabited in Geet-Gauva, Dholak’s beat, Dalpuri, Kucha and Gatopima. And it is also natural, because the soil here has mixed blood and sweat. We are all part of the same family.
Honor and pride of Indianness
PM Modi further said in his address, ‘The things that Prime Minister Ramgulam has said has come out directly from the heart. I express my heart for these expressions. The people of Mauritius and the government have decided to give me the highest civilian honor here. I politely accept this decision. This honor is a symbol of historical relations and is also the honor of those Indians who served this earth from generation to generation and brought Mauritius to heights. I express my heartfelt gratitude to the people of Mauritius and the government for this honor.
Indo-Marysus’s unbreakable relationship
Addressing the Indian community further, PM Modi said, ‘Friends, the President of India was the chief guest on the occasion of National Day last year. This reflects the depth of the relations between India and Mauritius. Choosing March 12 as National Day is a reflection of our common history. This is the day when Mahatma Gandhi started Dandi Satyagraha against slavery. This day is the day to remember the freedom struggle of both our countries. No one can forget great personalities like Manilal doctors, who came to Mauritius and fought for the rights of the people here. The statue of Sivasagar ji at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna reminds us of this tradition.
Spiritual heritage of Ramayana
PM Modi said, ‘When I meet you everyone, I talk to you, I get lost in the memories of two hundred years old, about which we have only read in books. Lord Rama became a Sambal for those innumerable Indians who were brought here by lying, who got pain, pain and cheating. In Ramcharitmanas, he saw a reflection of his pain. Lord Rama’s struggle, his victory, his penance – all of them found inspiration. This belief became his strength.
“If Ram is made, then become, it becomes bad.
Fourteen years old, returned Puni Ayodhya Mahi. ”
From Ramayana Conference to Ayodhya
PM Modi said, ‘I remember, I had the opportunity to come to Mauritius for the International Ramayana Conference in 1988. Then I was not in any government post, came here as an ordinary worker. Incidentally, Prime Minister Ramgulam was also at that time. Then when I became the Prime Minister, Ramgulam came to Delhi for my swearing -in ceremony. The faith and spirit of Lord Rama and Ramayana I saw here years ago, I am still experiencing today. In January last year, when Ramlala died in Ayodhya, the same gaiety was seen in Mauritius. The wait for five hundred years ended and Ramlala sits in his temple.
