PM Modi Brazil Tour Brics Summit 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for five countries from Wednesday (July 2). PM Modi first reached Ghana and then after that Trinidad and Tobago will reach. Meanwhile, PM Modi will visit Argentina, Brazil and Namibia and return to India next Wednesday (July 9).

In this tour, everyone’s eyes are on PM Modi’s Brazil tour. PM Modi will be present in Brazil from 5-8 July. PM Modi will reach Rio de Janeiro on Saturday (July 5) and will attend the BRICS summit on 6-7 July. During this time, many bilateral meetings of PM Modi are also possible.

Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin will not join BRICS Summit

However, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin are not attending the BRICS summit this time. The Prime Minister of China will take part in this summit. The President of China is raising many questions not to attend the BRICS summit. Many experts also believe that Brazil has kept distance from China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) project and this is not liked by China. While the distance from BRI project to Brazil is in India’s interest. On the other hand, Brazil has also organized a state visit in honor of Prime Minister of India, which will be held in Bascilia on 8-9 July. This means that India is going to have a focal point of BRICS Summit, 2025.

The main day of the BRICS Summit on 6 July is

The main day of the Rio Summit of BRICS is Sunday (July 6). On this day, all member countries will hold a meeting. This year the main theme of BRICS is to further strengthen global South cooperation for continuous and inclusive rule i.e. the voice of Global South countries to get a proper platform and solve their problems. So that developed countries also take care of the rights of developing countries. Prime Minister of India and India, Modi has been putting the voice of Global South in front of the world from every platform. This is the reason that the Prime Minister of India played a leading role in getting the countries of Global South in the expansion of BRICS.

What is the agenda of BRICS Summit this year,

The first agenda item of the BRICS summit is an issue of improvement in global rule, which will only include the heads of the permanent member country or their representatives. The fourth agenda of the meeting on the second day of the BRICS Summit i.e. on Monday (July 7) is environment, COP30 and global health issues. It is noteworthy that Brazil is also organizing COP30 in November this year, so issues related to climate change and COP30 are important.

India will chaired the BRICS summit in 2026

India and Brazil relations

Diplomatic relations between India and Brazil started in the year 1948. Brazil and Goa were outposts of Portuguese regime. India’s consulate is in Sao Polo while Brazil’s consulate is located in Mumbai. Since 2006, there is a strategic partnership between the two countries.

This year, Brazilian President Silva has invited Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on a state visit. Earlier, PM Modi went to participate in the G20 in the year 2024. Since 2014, Prime Minister Modi has traveled to Brazil four times since 2014.

The President of Brazil condemned the Pahalgam attack

It is noteworthy that after the Pahalgam terror attack, Brazilian President Lula had strongly condemned the terrorist attack by talking to Prime Minister Modi on 8 May and gave his support in the fight against terrorism. Brazil is the largest trading partner in South America. India is the 9th big trade partner of Brazil. During the year 2024-25, bilateral trade between the two countries reached US $ 12.20 billion, with India also exported around US $ 6.77 billion. Brazil has an investment of about 6 billion US dollars and Brazil has invested 1 billion dollars in India. About four thousand people from Indian community live in Brazil, most of which Indians live in the city of Sao Polo, Rio and Manus.
