Congress state president Karan Mahra on Sunday made a press conference on the disastrous disaster in Dharli in Uttarakashi district of Uttarakhand and made serious allegations against the government. He said that the government is deferring into releasing the list of missing people, while there is a shortage of medicine, food and water in the affected areas.
Mahra alleged that the situation deteriorated due to non -construction of two Bailey Bridge pending for years. He appreciated the army and said that despite losing their companions, the soldiers rescued on time and postponed great destruction. Mahra claimed that a large number of laborers are missing and there is no official data. He demanded the government to release the list of missing people and the data of phone deactivation of the affected immediately.
Karan Mahra told that despite the closure of the road ahead of Bhatwadi after the disaster, he decided to reach Dharali via foot. The administration did not allow him to go beyond the Ganganani, but he walked 50 km and reached the village crossing the Limachigad bridge. On the way, he helped bring 40-50 people safely, where the SDRF crossed everyone through a rope.
BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt accused Congress state president Karan Mahra of doing politics during the disaster. Bhatt said that Mahra is spreading confusion by making false statements. He earlier said that the administration stopped him, but if it was so, how did he reach the spot? Now they are alleging that relief work started late. Bhatt said that local conditions were very difficult and it was not easy to reach there. The Congress President himself knows in what circumstances he reached there, so instead of making unnecessary rhetoric, he should cooperate.
