After Sanjay Roy was convicted of rape and murder in Kolkata’s RG case, politics has heated up between the ruling Trinamool Congress and BJP. Let us tell you that Sealdah Court has convicted Sanjay Roy on Saturday. The court will announce his punishment on Monday.
BJP leader Amit Malviya said that Kolkata Police was involved in destroying evidence. He wrote that the conviction of accused Sanjay Roy in the RG Kar rape and murder case is the first important step towards justice for the female doctor. However, this does not absolve the Kolkata Police or Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who were involved in destroying evidence and trying to hide the crime. The wheel of justice turns slowly, but turns well. BJP stands strongly in support of the victim’s family in their search for justice in Bengal.
Countering the BJP leader’s statement, TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said that a section of people tried to spread misinformation for their political interest. He said, “The Chief Minister himself has strongly condemned this and demanded death penalty for the culprits. Kolkata Police had arrested the culprit within 24 hours. We have condemned this incident from the very beginning, But a section of people tried to spread misinformation and mislead people in three cases and the culprits were given death penalty. Want It is believed that in this case also the culprit should get death penalty.
Let us tell you that the court convicted Sanjay Roy under sections 64 (punishment for rape), 66 (punishment for causing death) and 103 (murder) of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS). Sealdah Court’s Additional District and Sessions Judge Anirban Das pronounced the verdict 57 days after the trial began. While convicting Sanjay Roy, the judge said in his remarks, ‘You must be punished.’
