In the investigation of Karnataka’s covered Revanna sex scandal, the SIT has used a forensic technique that was tried for the first time in India. In this high-profile case, former MP Prajwal Revanna was identified as a convict with ‘Genital Feature Mapping’. This is the same method, which till now was used only in countries like Türkiye. But for the first time, Indian investigators used it in a case decisively proved the identity of the accused.
According to SIT sources, a high-regulation screenshots were taken from the viral video of this scandal. He was matched with pictures taken during Revanna’s medical test. The process also included specialist dermatologists and urologist. He made a physical comparison of private part, waist and hand under medical protocol. Just as fingerprints are considered to be the unique identity of a human being, in this technique, concrete conclusions were drawn with comparison of physical structure. These evidences proved to be very strong in the court.
On the basis of these evidences, the princely Revanna was sentenced to life imprisonment. The biggest base in the police investigation made the same video, which was recorded on his mobile phone (Samsung Galaxy J4). In these videos, the victim was seen clearly a victim of sexual harassment at the farm house in Gannikada and the house in Bangalore. In the video footage, the victim was shown forcibly removing clothes and having a physical relationship without consent. The crime scene was identified by the victim woman herself in front of the SIT.
Confirmation in FSL report
The Forecink Science Laboratory (FSL) has also confirmed that all videos are real. There was no editing or tampering in them. In the video, both the face and voice of the accused were clearly recognizable. Samples of the accused were collected and mixed with the audio track found from the video. In the FSL report, both the sounds were found to be the same. This scientific analysis proved that the accused himself was involved in the recorded acts. After this, the presence of Prajwal Revanna in forensic investigation also strengthened.

DNA and forensic evidence
The stains were recovered from the mattress of the house of Prajwal Revanna. Samples were collected from the victim’s clothes and hair. The DNA of these stains and samples was introduced to the biological sample (semen and epithelial cells) of the accused. It was clearly written in the report that the criminal had sexual contact at the identified places with the victim. Medical test of criminal was conducted at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Research Institute. During this time, FSL experts took high-resolution pictures of the private part of the creep Revanna. After this, they were matched with viral video.
Victim’s medical examination
The forensic team has confirmed that the private parts seen in videos and pictures match exactly. This decisive evidence strengthened the case. The victim’s medical examination found clear injuries and scars related to sexual harassment. Older wounds, bursting marks, semen and DNA in the body, these evidence confirms the testimony of the victim. The court considered all these as decisive. 11 items were recovered from the labor quarters located at Gannikada Farmhouse. These included clothes, hair and personal items. Organic parts of the accused were found on them.
Complicated testimony of the victim
This confirmed the victim’s statement. The victim gave the same statement in the court, which was fully supported by forensic, digital and medical evidence. The delay in filing the report was justified by the court, as the victim had given reasons like political pressure, threats and being held hostage. FSL ensured that all evidence such as mobile, clothes, self -and vocals were kept under legal protocols. The court dismissed the defense objections outright.
