The court finally gave a historic verdict in the sex scandal shocking Karnataka politics. In this case, former MP from Hassan and JDS leader Prajwal Revanna has been sentenced to life imprisonment. The court announced the sentence on Saturday after being convicted on August 1 in several cases related to sexual abuse, rape, threats and digital crime. The court has ordered life imprisonment in two cases and a total fine of Rs 11 lakh. This amount will be given as compensation to the victim.
In this sex scandal, a simple saree came to light as the biggest evidence. The victim told the court that when Prajwal forcibly raped her, she was wearing a sari. After the incident, he kept the sari and kept it.
In forensic investigation, sperm marks were found on the saree. This evidence presented in the court gave a decisive turn to the entire case. Not only this, the victim had also recorded a video of the incident, in which the face of the covered Revanna was clearly visible.
After the disclosure of the case, the victim girl had told that between 2020 and 2021, Revanna continued to force her to take off clothes on video calls. When he denied, he used to threaten to ruin him and his mother.
The victim said, “He used to call my mother’s phone and ask me to pick up video calls. When I refused, she said that if the mother did not cooperate, he will take away the father’s job and will not back down from raping me.”
Rape of victim’s mother in Bengaluru, sexual abuse of many women
The victim had revealed that her mother was raped at a residence in Basavanguri in Bangalore. The video of this incident later went viral on social media. Not only enlightened, the victim also made serious allegations against her father and senior JDS leader HD Revanna.
He had said that the father and son are habitual criminals. Both of them also sexually abused other women employees working at home along with the victim’s mother. Three maids were also revealed after this revelation.
The victim’s father’s job was snatched, had to sell the land
The victim had told that for two years of persecution, her family destroyed her. His mother used to stay away from home for months. She was able to call at midnight only. Father was beaten up. He had to sell his land and was snatched away.
The victim said, “She treated us like slaves. Threatened us continuously. When we filed a case, we were asked to withdraw the case by luring us to return home.” This entire case had caused a stir in the politics of Karnataka.
Women working in the house used to live in fear of Revanna
The victim’s mother had told that Suraj Revanna was married in the year 2019. During this time, he was called on the pretext of work at the wedding, but on every occasion, Revanna started calling him alone in his room. A total of six women worked in that family. Everyone lived in fear.
Especially when the blessed Revanna came home, there was silence on the entire staff. Not only this, his father HD Revanna used to call women in storeroom after going out of his wife’s house.
The victim said- if something happens to us, Revanna family will be responsible
After this, he would take it inside on the pretext of giving fruits and would do obscene act with them there. He also sexually abused him. This sequence continued again and again. The woman said that her work in the kitchen was also not safe. Many times, Revanna used to do excesses with him even after entering the kitchen.
The victim girl told the court, “We were scared, so in the beginning, we could not tell the truth. But when the mother saw the video of the rape, she gave a statement in front of the judge and the SP. Today when the court has given strict punishment, we are confident that justice is alive. If we have anything, we will be responsible for the responsible Revanna and his family.” The responsibility of investigating the case was given to the SIT of the Karnataka Police.
