On one hand, the Sangh chief says that the establishment of true independence will take place only on the date of Pran Pratistha in the Ram temple of Ayodhya. On the other hand, after the defeat in the Lok Sabha elections in Faizabad, the Lok Sabha seat related to Ayodhya, till now BJP has to answer on the politics of Hindutva. Where now BJP wants to answer the defeat with victory in Milkipur by-election. Voting is on February 5. On Tuesday, BJP has fielded Chandrabhan Paswan, who comes from the same caste, against Ajit Prasad, son of Faizabad MP Awadhesh Prasad, in Milkipur.
Actually, the elections are not to be held in Ayodhya but in Milkipur. But Akhilesh Yadav’s emphasis is more on Ayodhya than Milkypur. Reason, Akhilesh wants to show that like the victory of Faizabad Lok Sabha related to Ayodhya, by winning the by-election of Milkipur, he will challenge the Hindutva politics of BJP.
At the same time, by recently blooming the lotus in nine by-election seats in Muslim dominated seats, BJP now wants to show by winning Milkipur by-election that the victory of socialists in Faizabad was not a fluke. In Milkipur on Tuesday, BJP has fielded Chandrabhan Prasad against Samajwadi Party’s Ajit Prasad. Ajit Prasad is the son of Awadhesh Prasad. BJP candidate Chandrabhan Prasad comes from the Pasi community, from which Awadhesh Prasad also comes.
BJP candidate Chandrabhan has been a district panchayat member twice from the neighboring area Rudauli. He has been seen active in politics from Milkipur seat for last two years. The fight in Milkipur is not between the candidates but directly over the narrative. Where Akhilesh Yadav and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are face to face.
Let us tell you that in 2022, Awadhesh Prasad became MLA from Milkipur by winning only by about twelve thousand votes, after becoming MP from Faizabad, Akhilesh Yadav has been carrying him like the poster boy of PDA. Despite being given a seat at the back in Parliament, Akhilesh has been making Awadhesh Prasad sit with him at the front. Now BJP would not only want to win in the same Milkipur but would also like to win by such a margin that it can show that the backward Dalits are still with Hindutva politics.
