Prashant Kishore’s allegations of corruption have started coming on political opponents. In a defamation case, the CJM court of Patna has asked Prashant Kishore to appear on October 17. This defamation case was done by Ashok Chaudhary, a minister in the Bihar government in June 2025.
Ashok Chaudhary was first accused by Prashant Kishore of giving money to the daughter’s Lok Sabha ticket. Ashok Chaudhary’s daughter Shambhavi Chaudhary is the MP of Lok Janshakti Party-Ramvilas from Samastipur. If you see, Chirag Paswan also comes under the circle of Prashant Kishore. Former Bihar BJP president Sanjay Jaiswal has also filed a defamation case against Prashant Kishore.
In Bihar, a clear glimpse of the strategy of Arvind Kejriwal, who was the Chief Minister of Delhi in Prashant Kishore’s politics, is seen. Arvind Kejriwal used to make serious allegations of corruption against political opponents. Like Kejriwal, now the case of Prashant Kishore has also reached the court, and notices are also coming. Arvind Kejriwal later rescued the cases by apologizing to all the leaders who made a defamation case, but this is just the beginning for Prashant Kishore.
It seems as if Prashant Kishore is gradually becoming focus on the issue of corruption like Arvind Kejriwal. Actually, he has started presenting himself as the third option in Bihar. So far, Bihar has been believed to be between the ruling NDA and the Grand Alliance in the India Block, Bihar, which is challenging – but, Prashant Kishore’s effort is to be considered as the third option as the Jan Suraj Party as well as the contest.
It is fine that Prashant Kishore has been visiting Bihar continuously for three years. It is also right that during the public campaign, people are reminding people the importance and rights of education and employment – but, they are forgetting that the political mood of Bihar is completely different from Delhi.
Corruption is already an issue in Bihar
Prashant Kishore does not need to go to Delhi. Corruption has already been an election issue in Bihar. It is fine that Nitish Kumar came to power in 2005 by making ‘Jungle Raj’ an issue. And since then, till now, Nitish Kumar and BJP have been winning elections by scaring people in the name of Jungle Raj.
The interesting thing is that Nitish Kumar forgets the Jungle Raj in whose name people scare people and join hands with Lalu Yadav. And then neither Jungle Raj can become an issue, nor is the case of Lalu Yadav being convicted in the fodder scam. And, when the mind is filled, Nitish Kumar also separates from the Lalu family in the name of corruption. In 2017, Tejashwi Yadav was accused of corruption, and Nitish Kumar separated for not resigning. But, then in 2022, he was also embraced.
Prashant Kishore has now accused Minister Ashok Chaudhary, who is considered close to Nitish Kumar, of corruption of Rs 200 crore. The allegations have been made by Prashant Kishore on Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary and Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal – the issue is that Nitish Kumar’s name is coming to the center of all such allegations.
Tejashwi Yadav has also described Nitish Kumar as the father of corruption, but due to Lalu Yadav’s fodder scam, his effect is less. After the attack of Prashant Kishore, the allegations are becoming more serious. Tejashwi Yadav may be expecting benefits in the surround of the NDA government on the issue of corruption, but it is not necessary that this happens. One thing is confirmed. NDA may have loss and Prashant Kishore may benefit, Tejashwi Yadav may benefit or not.
For example, Arvind Kejriwal used to talk about sending corrupt people to jail when he came to power, Prashant Kishore is also doing. Rather four steps ahead. Prashant Kishore says that if the Jan Suraj Party government is formed after the election, then a special law will be made in Bihar. A list of 100 corrupt leaders and officers of Bihar will be prosecuted in the special court. And, the looted properties of him and his relatives will be seized and put in the treasury of the Bihar government.
There is a big difference in the political mood of Bihar and Delhi
Prashant Kishore understands Indian politics better. Especially the politics of Bihar. Just as they understand the voters of the country, similarly the priorities of the voters of Bihar. The election campaign for the first leaders, and later Bihar has also understood by roaming around.
Of course, the political change in Bihar is scope, but the mood of the voter has also changed, who can claim this. To see the leaders, people gather in election rallies to hear their good things, but while voting, something else is going on in the mind.
Delhi is cosmopolitan, but is stuck in Bihar castes. And caste politics is also overshadowing the politics of religion. The results of the Lok Sabha elections in UP of 2024, and the BJP government at the Center for the caste census is an example. The path on which Arvind Kejriwal was successful in Delhi, it is not necessary to have the same with Prashant Kishore. If Prashant Kishore feels that the people of Bihar will accept him on Arvind Kejriwal, then the politics of Bihar needs to be understood by him.
There is also a basic difference between Prashant Kishore and Arvind Kejriwal. Arvind Kejriwal had gained fame as a social worker before joining politics. Raman had won the Magsaysay Award – and Ramlila was planning a big movement against corruption in the ground.
Arvind Kejriwal knew that some people knew him. As an activist who is working on the right to information, but the country’s large population has no meaning with it. And, Kejriwal chose Anna Hazare for this work. Then people also did not know Anna Hazare as they now know.
But, the image of Anna Hazare was such a need which could be promoted as an honest Gandhiwali worker on a large scale. Arvind Kejriwal did what was needed. Prashant Kishore himself is not as capable, and he also has no face like Anna Hazare.
Prashant Kishore still puts his political opponents in the dock as a upper caste businessman, and it is difficult for Prashant Kishore to recover from such a nectar – it was not in the case of Arvind Kejriwal.
