The city’s tourism, travel and hotel industry have got a tremendous boost from the ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj. The Uttar Pradesh government gave this information on Tuesday. Although three ‘Amrit Snan’ have been completed, millions of devotees are reaching Prayagraj every day. Due to this, there is a demand for hotels, lodges and luxury cottages. According to the government, the number of devotees who took holy bath at Triveni Sangam on Tuesday exceeded 55 crores.
Special bath on Mahashivaratri
The Mahakumbh, which is being held after 12 years, started from 13 January and will run till 26 February. It had three ‘Amrit Snan’ and three special bathing date. So far, there have been three ‘Amrit Snan’ and two special baths. Now only Mahashivaratri (26 February) is left for a bath.
Hotel industry boom
However, after the stampede on January 29, there was a sudden decline in hotel booking. 30 people died and 60 people were injured in this stampede. But now the hotel booking has increased again. Advance booking is being done especially for February 26 after February 26.
According to the government, the hotel and restaurant industry has registered an increase of 20-30% and profit has increased by 5-10%.
Luxury tent house and hotel full
Harjinder Singh, president of Prayagraj Hotels and Restaurant Welfare Association, said, ‘Large -scale bookings are being done in the city’s three and four star hotels, homestay and lodge. Luxury tent houses built in the fair area are completely filled. It is clear that the hotel industry is benefiting a lot due to Kumbh. According to the government, record crowds are gathering during Mahakumbh, due to which the demand for tourism and travel services remains continuously and Prayagraj’s tourism industry is moving fast.
