Maruti will sell this new SUV through its affordable Arena dealership (Arena).
According to media reports, this upcoming SUV in the market will position between the current Brezza and Grand Vitara. That is, it will be bigger than Maruti Brezza in size. It is being told that Maruti Suzuki has been working for a long time on this 5 -seat SUV and its codename is ‘Y17’. However, in the initial days it was reported that ‘Y17’ is a 7-seater SUV but the latest reports show that it will be introduced as a 5-seater car.
Engine and performance
Maruti Escudo will be based on the same global-C platform on which Brezza and Grand Vitara have been prepared. Although its powertrain details have not been revealed right now, but it can be given the same engine option which is seen in the existing Grand Vitara. In this, the company can use a 1.5 liter of natural aspirated petrol engine. Apart from this, these SUVs can also be launched in the market with a 1.5 liter TNGA petrol engine taken from Toyota with strong hybrid technology.
