Pro Khalistan Amritpal Singh who is in jail going to Launch Political Party On 14th January

Amritpal Singh Party: Amritpal Singh, a Khalistan supporter and MP from Khadur Sahib, Punjab, lodged in Assam’s Dibrugarh jail under the National Security Act (NSA), is going to form his own political party. He will hold a rally on January 14 and will launch the regional political party from here. This fair organized on the occasion of Lohri holds great importance in Punjab and people of Sikh community gather in large numbers.

According to the report of Hindustan Times, Panth Bachao, Punjab Bachao rally is going to be organized in Sri Muktsar Sahib, Punjab. Some announcements will be made during Maghi Da Mela. Amritpal Singh was last brought to Delhi from Dibrugarh to take oath as Lok Sabha MP on 5 July 2024. He was arrested by Punjab Police on April 23, 2023.

Why does Amritpal want to form his own party?

If those who keep a keen eye on the politics of Punjab are to be believed, after the weakening of the Akali Dal in the state, there has been some space for sectarian politics. Amritpal Singh and his supporters want to take advantage of this. It is also worth noting that Amritpal Singh has openly advocated for separating Punjab and creating Khalistan. First his election victory and now the matter of forming a political party is being seen as the rise of fundamentalist politics in Punjab.

Amritpal Singh’s father has also expressed his desire to form a political party.

In September last year, Amritpal Singh’s father Tasrem Singh had also expressed his desire to form a new political party in Punjab. After paying obeisance at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Amritpal Singh’s parents addressed the media and said that a new party is needed to strengthen Punjab. Punjab is going through a sensitive phase these days.

Tasrem Singh said, “The party will be for the welfare of all and will follow the principle of ‘Manas Ki Jaat Sabai Eke Pehchanbo’ (equality of mankind).”
